A Three-Legged Stool

Ever sat on a stool? Any stool worth its salt, worth you sitting on must have at least three legs. Here at Laurel Wesleyan we believe God has placed his call on all mankind to follow him. To be a Christ Follower means to engage in these three areas.

Worship… Loving God back every moment of our lives. It is not just what we do for an hour on Sunday. We shorten this to the single word… LOVE

Secondly, as we get to know and love this God, it naturally draws us to love others and this is expressed through serving them. Just as our savior served, we do the same. We shortened this to the single word… SERVE.

Finally, we believe that this Christian life is something progressive, something we grow up in the longer we know him. We simplify this to the word… Grow.

If any leg is missing, there is trouble.

If you try to serve God and know more about God, but there is not love, no adoration, no worship, then it is lifeless routine.

No worship- no life

No service- no impact

If you worship the Lord and learn more about him, but never serve, then you do not know the heart of God and you miss out on impact in our world

But what if we love God, seek to serve him, but don’t follow through in discipleship, no grow. Then we eventually fall away- we have no endurance

No discipleship- no endurance

The confident, safe and effective position requires all three legs on the stool.
